[Central Dome] Neko Koneko vs. Spoonpuppet

Central Dome

Outline of Battle: A normal battle with no special rules. Killing is not allowed, dismemberment is not allowed. Judging will be done according to creativity and writing skills.

As the sun slowly set over the barren landscape the roof above the Central Dome was slowly closing to protect the stadium from the elements. As darkness slowly set in large lights were turned on around the stadium to provide the fighters with enough light to see what they were doing.

"From one side, a veteran, a well-known fighter, we have Nariël van Calanor!"

The large door opened slowly and Nariël walked into the arena, greeting the cheers from people in the audience. A lot of people knew very well what her role had been in the battle against Zeerik a few years ago, and this made her popular with a lot of the contestants. Of course, the Aerinthian liberation front was amongst the crowd aswell, but they were quickly boo-ed away when they started throwing random items at Nariël. Whatever the reason, today was not a day for Darkanian-hating.

And on the other side of the arena, we have the challenger, the newcomer, Lacha the Levian!"

The door opened and Lacha entered the arena. The crowd silenced, some people laughed. What would a newcomer begin against a veteran like Nariël? Only a small group of Levians in the bottom stalls cheered, the others remained silent.

"Shall we have a fair fight then?"

"Isn't that how all fights are supposed to be?"

"I suppose."

Nariël grinned and unbuckled the belt which held her weapons. Her swords and the Behemoth fell onto the floor of the arena.

"Because you're a newcomer, I'll fight using only one weapon. You may choose which one I'll use."

Lacha looked at the weapons on the ground. Two identical swords and a heavy, spiked club. The swords were obviously a pair, if they had any special power would it be weaker if Nariël only got to use one sword? The club looked utterly painful though.

"Having trouble picking?"

"... do whatever you normally do"

Nariël's grin disappeared for a moment. She hadn't anticipated this response.

"Feeling confident then? Good."

She smiled. This girl ought to be a lot more interesting than she at first anticipated. The crowd roared as Nariël picked her belt up again and strapped it around her waist. She then unsheathed her two swords and readied them for an attack. As the audience became silent in anticipation, Lacha also prepared her weapon to strike her opponent.

Lacha knew she had more than just her opponent against her; She could feel the weight of expectation from the crowd on her - an expectation to fail miserably against the veteran.

She tried to shake the feeling from her mind. She considered herself a person who did not care what others thought, but in truth she is easily embarassed. There was no time to think about expectations as Nariël dashed forward with her two blades, accompanied by the roar of the spectators.

The blades sliced forward and nearly grazed Lacha's middle as she took a quick step back. Nariël immediately lunged forward again, aiming for Lacha's left shoulder.

There was a sharp clang and Nariël felt herself bounce back off the froth shield. She adjusted her balance and looked through the translucent layer at her opponent. Lacha's staff stopped glowing from the spell.

Lacha took a deep breath. She hadn't expected her opponent to be so agile and forceful.
