View Full Version : Banned people

I've heard that certain banned people *cough*paradox*cough are still browsing this forum and posting under different forum names. I think this is fucking rude. If you kick someone out of your house you don't want them to put on a fake mustache and come back again right? If you know about any member who was banned and returned with a different nickname please inform an admin about it so that it can be dealt with in an appropiate manner. People are banned for a reason, they aren't welcome here anymore, so they shouldn't return here anymore.
update: When typing this I forgot about Darkclone, who I just spotted in the online list. People might wonder why he is allowed to come back here even though he was banned. Well, he at least didn't hide his presence, unlike most people who come back after a ban, then he asked for permission to stay and it was given to him. Just to clear that little thing up before people will start complaining about it (something I know you guys are very good at).

Or contact any global mod, whoever's at hand. Oh, and don't be afraid to use the "Report Post" button. It's very useful and is there for a reason.

When you ban someone, you ban their ip correct? Is there anyway that can stop them from coming back?
Neko Koneko
August 21st, 2005, 03:26 pm
If they have a dynamic IP (as in, it changes everytime they go online) an IP ban won't help at all. The only thing we can do against such people is find them out and keep banning them.

Umm... why is Red Stone banned?

He requested to be banned. Temporarily, I assume, so he wouldn't be distracted from his studies or something like that.
Neko Koneko
August 22nd, 2005, 12:57 pm
That is true. Help to remind me to unban him on the 7th because the automatic ban lifting could only be set to the 12th or something :whistle:

I have no idea why paradox was banned. Someone tell me over a PM.

@Angelic: We're allowed to curse? :huh: I should've known!

@Angelic: We're allowed to curse? :huh: I should've known!
What about swearing?
Swearing is acceptable (although not encouraged) as long as it is not overused or directed at a member.
This isn't a 3rd grade playground, where teachers screech at you for saying "crap".

I know that there is a rule about cursing, but It really doesn't seem that enforced. :| It's mainly just newer members who violate the rule, but I actually have noticed a certain moderator that contributes to the madness as well. O_O I don't want to rat on anyone though, so just go to certain threads in the Composition forum and you'll see what I mean. >_>

Wow, you hid that pretty well. Considering I'm the only moderator who posts in that forum.. :think:
Kou

Well.. the rules aren't that well kept are they
eg:
Sig size limit 500 x 120 x 50kbs. the 50kb gets violated so often with no enforcements I've seriously considered having a 2mb gif image as my sig =_=
there's also.. only 2 lines of text under the sig, but no one cares about that.
oh wait... you seemed to have violated those rules, Ureshii Gaki.
But. who. fuckin. cares. we're not rule nazis and Noir can curse all he wants (did you? :mellow: ), especially to fools who post in the wrong forum
by the way, we're going off topic here

Exactly...... who gives a fuck?
We all come here (most of us anyway) to just have a good time. ^_^
As long as you're not being a stupid fuck.... it's all good.
Also..... why did you post that in this thread, Marlon. - -;; So.. no, people don't get banned for cursing. Otherwise I'd be gone a while ago. :stoned:

Actually, Kou, My sig is within the guidelines: the ambigram of my last name does NOT exceed those dimensions, nor does it have more than 2 lines of text. I made sure that I followed those rules carefully when I made the sig. ^^;
And on the cursing, I personally believe that it should be censored or something; it really does more harm than good, and is thoroughly unnecessary, but that's just me. :| I actually have a sufficient vocabulary that allows me to use words that convey the same meaning as their profane counterparts, yet still adhere to the standard conduct of the forum. >_>
If you absolutely MUST use it though, abbreviate it (as in "WTF") or censor the offense out with asterisks or other such insignia (as in **** or &*%^); That way, we can prevent the already corrupted youth from reading such senseless garbage. ^_^
Once again, that's just my CRAZY opinion-- if you don't like it, disregard it and get on with your life; if you do, and you have the power to make a change, please do. XD

On topic, I think that the best way to go about banning violators is to simply ban him/her, then somehow make the forums inaccessible for that computer. I have no Idea if that's possible, but it's a thought. ^^;

If we are already corrupted, why stop us from reading what we already hear and experience each day? Its like saying a cat is corrupted and you try to stop it from licking its ass X=
Seriously though, grow up. If you try to baby people for their whole life, the day they hear the world ass, they will go crazy. Let them experience a little.
Also, you siggy is a bit big ;)

..I think one person telling him is enough.. erm.. sorry but it's a bit mean to make a person feel so.. for lack of words, intimidated.. and plus.. I believe that many people in the past on here have been banned because of some rules (according to my "tour guide")... so it'd only be fair to enforce it with everyone.. but really I have no say in this so please don't burn me for this post >.<;

Whatever happened to free speech people?! Why are there curse words if we can't use them, seems pointless ne? It's a word, get over yourself. SOmetimes, they really can get a meaning across nice and quickly. eg, "Go fuck yourself" is much quicker than "Leave me alone because I don't like you and your getting on my nerves because you annoy me because your annoying." Of course, that's a very general example, and I'm SURE one could spill out a massive landslide of a speech telling someone to go fuck themselves politely but then, the impact is gone, ne?
Besides, (and this has been said OFTEN) THE MODS AND ADMIN ARE THERE FOR A REASON. Don't you think they're in their positions BECAUSE they have shown themselves to be capable of handling situations and keeping order? Who else is more active around forums? Who keeps a sharper eye on the activities around the forum? Tehy're are obviously observant enough and have reasonable dicision making sills otherwise they would not be in their position. So why argue excessively about a decision they've made? I mean, come on, the mods and admin on here would have to have justification in there decisions and would look at all other options before making an executive decision.
So next time (if there is at all) shut the hell up and reason with yourself as the WHY. Put yourself in their shoes and see what it's like. That's why they're mods and admin and you aren't!

Swearing makes me cringe. Why not just simply say `Get lost`?

I stand corrected! O_O Upon a double check on the size of the image, I realized that I was 20 pixels over; I changed it accordingly-- also note the uprgrade of UPS from "United" to "Universal". ^^; Also, let's not belittle ourselves by proceeding with the typical "I TOLD YOU SO!" comments, as it would really label the person/people who called me immature as hypocritical. >_<
Sorry about that... I feel so stupid, and blatantly labeling me as illiterate was entirely uncalled for and rather hurtful. :| I can't help that I'm sensitive. >_>

Hide swearing from the young members of the forum? Why? This is no friggin' kindergarten. As Zero said, we come here to have a good time. The rule stands perfectly as it does; It's allowed, yet not encouraged.

For cursing, we dont really need to censor it since young generations these days say it all the time. Heck I went to the park once and heard a bunch of 2nd and 3rd graders saying Fuck, Shit, Bitch all the time. I find it unusuall, but thats what I see. The young generations will learn it sooner or later.

To Hiei...
Yeah, I realize that kids are really bad off these days in the cursing department, and it really pains me to have to hear that come from such seemingly innocent mouths. X_X By the way... I REALLY like your sig. ^_^
To Collective Society...
Why don't we just drop the issue of cursing and go on to what this topic was made for, discussing how the administrative team will go about banning wrongdoers? ^^; *is rather desperate to change the subject*

I was told that if I swore I would go straight to hell.
I have also never stolen a thing.
Or killed anyone.
Or anything similar...
Ketsurui... why was he banned?
Also, is there a list of banned people in this forum?
M
October 8th, 2006, 06:14 pm
Wow. This thread was revived...
Well, the concept of swearing is just a thought of reserved words for insult or degrading something; on the stlight ingnorant/harsh side of things. A prime example of this is the word Jazz. Until Jazz music was offically accepted in the 1930s, it was an equvelent of the word Fuck. The reason those words were chosen as so called /curse/ words were because of the way they sounded: harsh and punctual. Deciding if you go to a pergatory of your own belief from saying such words is up to you to decide.
And we don't have a memeber called Ketsurui. Do you mean Kitsune-rose?
Jaso

There is a ban-list, but it's not visible to others than mods and admins. Ketsurui was banned the 18th April by Angelic, and there's no explanation why on the list. You'll have to ask Angelic personally once he gets back.

AH!
I take everything I said back from Ketsurui. Ketsurui was a duplicate Screen Name here (anyone remember vi3t?). While you have do to a lot of digging to find the exact reason, Angelic was right in banning her for two reasons: 1) Her original account was banned due to malconduct on the forums (she was a counter-productive user) and 2) Ketsurui was her second account here to get around her original banning.
The thread showing where she was banned
PS. Angelic is sick right now. I don't think he'll be checking PMs for a while.
