Maybe, just maybe, it's because a lot of people realized there is more then the internet, Ichigo's, to life. GASP! Maybe, some people began to realize that Ichigo's, fun and all, is just a neat little space on the giant expanse of the internet and universe to just pop in here and there, rather then live every single waking minute of their existence on.

That might have just been me. I'm sure I posted a million posts a day during my most active.

You know, you could have just said "maybe people got bored." It would've been a lot shorter, and it would've sounded a lot less like you were passive-agressively being a dick to X. =D
Still, people getting bored doesn't account for the loss of activity, unless we assume that the number of new members we're attracting is falling. Which may be the case, I guess.

Well, yeah, ok, people got bored. General Chat is gone, General Discussion is gone, all the forum games are gone, IRC has consumed all of those. And IRC can't replace a forum, because unless you keep it open all the time, there is no archiving what people said, there is no leaving and coming back from school to see what people said. It is just a bit boring now, so people just stopped being so active.

It's understandable why though, why GC and the games are gone, because the main emphasis of the forums is the music, anime, and video games. But a lot of the connecting is now lost, which is sad, because Ichigo's used to be so active and tightly knit. Now it's like a one night stand D:

yup, I guess a good 50%+ of our members come for the music sheet request and go

I too in the shortish time I have been here have noticed a decline in contributing members. Maybe the new members just see a post with all of us oldies that have been here for ages and don't want to intrude. So maybe we should make posts that are more newbie friendly

But I agree with Furbob, unless you're into composing or drawing; there's not much to add to on the forum. We something new and exciting...............

Yeah, this place has kind of been sterilized for the sake of our musical image or something. Actually, this place was sterilized in an attempt to create a stronger community, I think, but I don't really know how well that worked...I wonder if the administration has any bar graphs or anything they could share with us? I'm curious as to whether activity is actually dropping, or if it just feels that way because the old regulars don't post as often?

As soon as I'm internet-famous, I'll be sure to do that. I'll save Ichigos with my other-forum-signatures and tweets!

Maybe instead of Ichigos sheet music, we could be like "Ichigos EVERYTHING!" We could have cooking subsections and.....papercraft subsections....and.....stuff. A super forum for the new internet!

Hm, it could work. Then again, it might just phail. Adding extra sections won't neccesarily mean more activity. But if it does kick off, then the sheet music section will be more recognised and would grow as well.

I dont think we have much to lose imo~

well personally on other forums im on, I tend to be most active on the sections with a specific theme i.e "music/television/movies" unlike "General Stuff" where its basically anything goes and it all seems too messy for me
but then again im a neat/organizational freak who likes everything in its own separate sections or compartments
