Christmas Composition Contest Competition
Christmas Composition Contest Competition
Beat that title =)
As requested by a lot of the members, there will be a Christmas contest this year aswell. This contest will continue in ordinary fashion, with a public voting poll after Christmas. The theme is, hold your breath here - Christmas! You are free to compose anything that you relate to this anual event, whether it's something sacred or simply seasonal. The choice of instruments, lenght, and genre is up to you.
The contest's deadline is: December 22nd (GMT+1)
Good luck!

My entry
Hysterico: This is my way of depicting x-mass shoping, going from jolly and nice to hectic´, hysterical and a general pain in the ass as "D-day" draws nar.

That was fast...been working on one already, have we? Well, that was very nice, and I like the humor behind it. But gosh...it was pretty short.
*goes to work on submission*

Does making an arrangement and/or variation of a christmas song count?

I don't think so, because then it wouldn't be an original composition by you.

In any case, your best bet would be either MIDI or MP3, as pretty much anyone can view those formats. Not everyone has Finale Notepad though, so I wouldn't recommend .MUS. There are plenty of people here who have Finale who can convert your Notepad file to MIDI or even MP3, so don't worry about that.

But there are a few people roaming around with Finale 2007 or similar I'm using Finale NotePad 2007, so... yeah. I refuse to put it in NotePad 2005 because the instruments sound different, and it would affect how my song sounds

*If you have a version of Finale NotePad 2007 (or any Finale) send me the .MUS. I can convert it into a .MIDI for you.*

@ajamesu: MIDI instruments sound different on different computers depending on which MIDI-template/font they have, therefore Mp3 is preferred. Those who submit in *.mus format will simply have to deal with the fact that not all people will listen to it.
@shenzu: What Maestrosetti said.

No, you're not restricted to anything like that.

Um, I have no idea whatsoever how to convert midi to mp3, much less .MUS to mp3, unless I use my keyboard to record an mp3, but I've never done that before, and I don't have the necessary equipment. Plus, theres the possibility of a mistake (sixteenth note runs in the harp )...It would sound nicer if I used the instruments on my keyboard, though... And, no one would notice my mistakes on notation xD I'll try to get the equipment...
